The Town of East Enterprise IN. is located at the Crossroads of SR-56 & SR-250 in Switzerland County Indiana.
The Department was organized on August 27, 1924, and Incorporated on May 22, 1961. The department merged with the Florence York Township Volunteer Fire Department on December 3, 2002 creating East Enterprise Station 1 at East Enterprise and East Enterprise Station 2 in Florence In.
The All-Volunteer Department is lead by the Ninth Chief of the Department Jeff Darling. Additional officers include Assistant Chief Mark Driver, Lieutenants Josh Abdon, Jason Chandler, Brian Levell, Safety Officer Harold Scranton jr., and includes 35 members (10 EMT's) who respond to ~250 calls each year.
EEVFD provides Fire Prevention & Education Programs, Fire Suppression, Rescue & Vehicle Extrication, and BLS Non-Transport Pre-Hospital Life Support Services to 110 square miles including the following Townships in Switzerland County, Cotton & York and part of Jefferson, and a portion of Cass Township in Ohio County. The largest structure in our primary coverage area is the 600 room Belterra Casino Resort & Spa.
The Department operates Twelve Pieces of Apparatus out of Two Stations. Station 1 has Two Engines, One Rescue/Pumper, Two Brush Trucks, One Tanker, One Air/Light/Tanker & One Basic Life Support Non-Transport Vehicle. Station 2 has One Engine, One Pumper/Tanker/Rescue, One Brush Truck, & One 135' E-ONE Bronto Aerial.
The department's instructors Paul Covington jr. & Mike Krall conduct monthly Training's in Fire, Rescue, & Basic Life Support.
The Department in conjunction with the Switzerland County Fire Chief's Corporation provides Fire Prevention Week activities to all students in Switzerland County K-5th grade and some local day cares, including a Surrey Fire Safety Trailer for hands on learning.
